What the White House's Gold Eagle Initiative Signals About Patch Speed

The White House launched Gold Eagle to coordinate AI-discovered vulnerabilities. Learn why patch prioritization now decides who stays ahead of attackers.

Summary

In July, the White House announced GOLD EAGLE, a government-industry clearinghouse that uses frontier AI to identify, prioritize and patch cybersecurity vulnerabilities across U.S. critical infrastructure (WhiteHouse.gov). The initiative was established under Executive Order 14409 and involves the Treasury, the Department of Homeland Security through CISA, the Department of War and National Cyber Director Sean Cairncross. It is designed to "intake and prioritize identified cybersecurity vulnerabilities from across industries and sectors." It will also coordinate scanning verification and deliver "prioritized and actionable threat and remediation information to defenders across the Federal government and the private sector."

The initiative reflects a broader shift.

AI is making vulnerability discovery faster and cheaper, for defenders and attackers alike.

The InfoSight take: more vulnerabilities, found faster, means prioritization is the job.

When AI can surface vulnerabilities in hours, most organizations won't struggle to find flaws. They'll struggle to decide which to fix first. Patching everything by severity score alone isn't realistic, and waiting for the next scheduled cycle leaves the most dangerous exposures open.

Proof beats assumption. Here's how InfoSight helps:

Mitigator® delivers continuous vulnerability and risk intelligence, so you can prioritize remediation by real-world risk, not just CVSS scores.

24/7 SOC monitoring, Powered by AI, Fueled by Experts. While patches are in progress, our analysts watch for signs of exploitation, so an open vulnerability doesn't become an active breach.

Purple Team SOCaaS tests whether your controls would detect exploitation of your highest-risk exposures, helping you decide what has to be fixed now and what can wait.

For financial services, healthcare and manufacturing organizations, the question isn't whether more vulnerabilities are coming. It's whether your team knows which ones matter.

Is your team patching what matters most?
